Participants of the round table analyzed various aspects possibilities of introducing and promoting cycling as a form of sustainable transport in Belgrade.

"Bicycle and pedestrian movement, although often seen together, are very different modes of movement that require separate consideration by the people who are responsible for this matter. Accordingly, it is necessary to recognize the potentials of both types of movement that will be treated with an integrated motor transport. However, although a number of years, these types of traffic viewed from the aspect of security and infrastructure equipment, observed the emergence of political and institutional barriers that need to be overcome in an effort to create an environment that is friendly to pedestrians and cyclists. As a way of solving problems is to define agenda of urban renewal in which to pedestrian and bicycle movement has set as a priority in future policy for sustainable transport.” In addition, Milena Vukmirović also pointed out the problem concerning “the need to change habits population, which is a long-term process that will not happen simply by the introduction of new technical concepts, but the engagement of social forces. The involvement of social forces would be aimed to persuade people that the sustainable transport of the towns where they live, make valuable life in them. "
"The way to achieve this is based on improving of understanding of cultural dynamics and motivations that influence people to choose to hike and bike riding, to identify the elements of urban environments that promote the decision to hike or ride a bike, for noticing the ways in which walking or cycling as a form of recreation can transfuse in walking and cycling as a form of transport, the identification of ways in which walking and cycling can be integrated with public transport, for quantifying the health benefits, to develop indicators related to urban quality and economic vitality ; the issue of social inclusion, etc.", added the representative of 5km / h, Milena Vukmirović

SUPPORT CAMPAIGN "ARROGANT PARKING" ORGANIZED by KRIO

CSA 5km / h, gave a public support to the campaign "arrogant parking" in the organization of KRIO: Collective for Development and Sustainability at a press conference held on 07th of July 2009 in the Cultural Center “ Grad ” . At a press conference attended Dragoljub Đakonović, Secretary of Transportation of the City of Belgrade, Branko Arsenijevic, a spokesman for JKP "Parking servis" Runić Danko, Director of the Agency for European Integration and Cooperation with Associations City of Belgrade Agency for Cooperation with NGOs and for European Harmonization, Filip Milosevic, the initiator of the campaign, and Milena Vukmirović, in front of CSA "5km/h".
Milena Vukmirović on this occasion pointed out the problems of pedestrians caused by improper parking of vehicles. Arrogant parking in most cases, usurp the space for movement of pedestrians, actually prevents the flow of pedestrian movement along the intended flow of traffic. Because of these situations, pedestrians are forced to use the driveway or some alternative route, which primarily threaten they own security. As a second, equally important problem, we have disabling of movement for various categories of pedestrians: disabled people.
As a possible solution of such situations could be considered the introduction and acceptance of a new road hierarchy according to which pedestrian movement is at the top of the ladder, after which is cycling, public transport, use of service vehicles and at the bottom is driving private cars. This would also mean promoting and stimulating the movement of environmentally sustainable modes of transport (hiking, cycling movement and public transport), which would reduce the number of cars, and solved the problem of parking.
